045. Yakov Smagarinsky. 'Birch trees in the Mikluho-Maclay Park'

About work

Birchgrove, NSW. 1982

Yakov Smagarinsky (Sydney, NSW)

"Mikluho-Maklay and his family lived in Birchgrove during 1884-1886. The park near his home was named after him. There is a legend that it was he who planted birches in
the park. Everything now has been rebuilt and changed there, but the light of his soul has been preserved."
