2020 Russian Language Summer Camp for West Australian Students The fourth annual Russian summer camp organized by the Russian School of Western Australia for schoolchildren was held between January 28 to January 31.

Fifty schoolchildren aged from seven to fourteen years were immersed in the exciting activities of the camp - integrating sporting events with intellectual learning - was a great way to end the school holidays.

Some of the sporting activities included rafting, canoe races and bungee flying, while the intellectual activities included drama classes, watching Russian films and playing the popular intellectual Russian game “What? Where? When?”

For the first time, a table tennis tournament for high school students was held in the camp.
With all the numerous activities, no one had time to get bored, making new friendships, gaining new knowledge and experiences.

However, the most frequented and favourite place in the camp was the dining room.
Everyone was delighted with the cabbage soup, tasty porridge, navy pasta, compotes and other traditional Russian dishes we have loved since childhood.

A dumpling-making workshop was one of the camp’s surprise event. The chefs prepared over 680 dumplings and everyone quickly ate them all. It was a very enjoyable dinner amongst old and new friends.

The Russian School of Western Australia has already begun to prepare for its fifth summer camp in 2021 so hurry and express your interest to participate now!

The Russian School wishes everyone every success on the start of the school year and invites all lovers of the Russian language and culture to join us at the Perth Modern School campus for 2020 Russian educational classes commencing on 08 February 2020.
