The year 1942 was difficult for the allies of the USSR in the Pacific Ocean. In February, Singapore fell, in March, the Japanese captured the islands of Indonesia (Dutch East Indies) and approached the shores of the fifth continent. After the massive bombing of Darwin, the Australians already seemed that their country was under threat of invasion.
