In early September, the Sydney hosted the next competition of the Joan Sutherland and Richard Bonynge Foundation, which featured young singers and singers from many countries. The goal of the foundation is to support and develop the next generation of opera singers and singers around the world to perpetuate the legacy of the legendary Australian soprano drama singer Joan Sutherland (1926–2010) and her husband, an outstanding conductor Richard Bonynge in the field of opera. The fund was founded in 2010.
