On December 2, a meeting devoted to the 200th anniversary of the famous Russian writer Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev was held as part of the regular meetings of lovers of Russian literature and the art Literary Portraits at the Russian Club in Stratfield (Sydney).
Lyudmila Angus spoke in detail about the life and work of Turgenev. At the end of her speech, Ludmila recalled how the writer was honored in the town of Bougival in France, where the author of the novels Noble Nest and Fathers and Sons died in 1883 at the age of 64, after a long illness. The story of Lyudmila supplemented the speeches of the editor of the Australian Mosaic, Tatyana Torlina, and the history buff, Alexei Ivachev. Lyudmila and Alexey prepared two stands with information about the famous writer. The listeners warmly greeted the speakers, who introduced them to the new information and reminded them of the Russian classic writer.
