Just before we call 2019 into our lives, Russian Orthodox Youth from all over Australia and even overseas are invited to get together for 5 exciting and fulfilling days in the heart of Melbourne CBD.
Syezd 2018 organised by Youth Committee of ROCOR (The Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia) will gather delegates between 27 and 31 December at Victoria Hotel. Organisers worked extra hard this year to secure 4 stars accommodation and all meals for the guests. And, I have been let in on a tasty secret: there will be unlimited barista coffee at the seminars venue The Cluster. A true Melbournian experience.
Young people between 18 and 30 of Russian Orthodox faith are invited to the Syezd. This event is the opportunity for youngsters to get away from school and uni stress at the end of the year, unwind, meet new friends and share their experiences, dreams, plans and discuss issues of concern.
In our super-connected but truly disconnected impersonal world of high speeds, gadgets and various demands on our time and attention, Syezd is the place to meet like-minded people, to make new friends and develop lasting relationships.
To help young people to have the best time at the Syezd there will be a team of organisers, who themselves attended past syezds. There will be seminars conducted by church leaders to help young people navigate murky waters of modern society and social and political issues of the day.
Organisers are expecting up to 80 young people to attend this year Syzed. They planned seminars, talent night, special dinner night. There will be sightseeing excursions and time outs to help participants relax, enjoy our beautiful city and to reflect on what they have heard at the seminars.
Judging by past syezds, participants would be a diverse bunch of young people, of various backgrounds. They all come to these events to socialise, to learn and to immerse themselves in Russian Orthodox culture.
Syezd will take place in Melbourne at Victoria Hotel between 27 and 31 December. There are various packages for attendants: accommodation inclusive and daily passes. The language of the Syezd is English. For more details and information please contact organisers (as per details on the poster).
