Leisure and Lifestyle Officer
St Sergius Aged Care is a not-for-profit organisation providing high quality Residential Aged Care and In Home Care services in the South Western Sydney.
We are seeking applications for Leisure and Lifestyle Officers that embody a person-centred care approach and whom strive to enable residents to have opportunities to participate in purposeful activity and actively contribute to their communities.
This role will:
• Provide opportunities to improve client’s quality of life through the delivery of a variety of social programs, activities and transport for improved quality of life for residents.
• Establish relationships and networks within our local community to promote active ageing opportunities.
• Ensure lifestyle programs and activities are documented, evaluated and reviewed to meet expected outcomes.
• Be a proactive member of the clinical and care team that compliments and supports resident wellbeing.
• Compile, evaluate and review individual resident care plans and assessments.
• Provide guidance to volunteers and family members participating and supporting activities.

Ideal candidates will have:
• Certificate IV Leisure and Health or Diploma in and experience in a similar role; or are willing to study
• Delivering high quality care & services that make a difference for our residents.
• A demonstrated ability to deliver activities and social events.
• Ability and willingness to bring new concepts and ideas to the table.
• Excellent customer service & resident relation skills
• Strong verbal, written and communication skills and commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Knowledge of dementia or mental health in older people (desirable)
• Good computer literacy
• Slavic language is preferred but not essential.
Mandatory requirements for all candidates
• Valid NDIS Worker Screen check;
• Evidence that you have had the Influenza Vaccination & COVID-19 Vaccination (3 doses) or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered*
* The NSW Australian Government has mandated that all residential aged care staff must be vaccinated under current state Directives unless employees have an NSW Health approved medical exemption).

We are a not-for-profit aged care organization serving the Russian and Slavic communities in Sydney. We are in the process of broadening our cultural client and staff base to include other cultural communities.
We are recruiting a Home Services Co-ordinator to help shape and deliver growing home care services at this exciting time.
The role is supported by a flexible generous package, including a motor vehicle allowance.
Key duties of this position:
• Play an important part in the build of innovative, client-focused, culturally appropriate home care services, tapping into rich existing community frameworks.
• Oversee existing client base and with the help of care workers and systems, keep up with changing needs of individual clients, delivering care in alignment with preferences and needs.
• Client assessment and reassessment.
• Participate in building new clients in targeted areas, optimising client pipelines.
• Collaborate to achieve optimal staff/client rostering.
• With support of Home Services Manager, manage existing care staff and participate in the recruitment of new care staff.
• With support of Education Co-ordinator, drive training for home care staff.
• Build relationships and networks to promote St Sergius’ home care services and increase home care package take-up.
• Work with St Sergius’ Clinical and Allied Health teams to achieve excellent clinical client outcomes.
• Observe compliances including Environmental Safety, Fire and Emergency procedures, and Work Health and Safety and deliver home care services in alignment with Aged Care Quality Standards – see Attached.
Skills and requirements
• A genuine interest in and respect for older people
• Experience working in aged care, formally and/or informally
• Slavic language preferred but not essential
• Strong relational capability to work proactively with clients and families
• Initiative to create opportunities and connections which enhance service outcomes
• Current driver’s license
• Covid -19 vaccination
• Positive, strengths-based communication skills
Education and qualifications
• Valid Working Rights
• Current National Police Check
• Relevant Aged Care Qualification
• First Aid Certificate preferable
